Lots of reports from many good sticks on www.ohiogamefishing.com Sandusky Bay in particular isn't where you want to fish IMO I would go overy by Lorain and fish the Sandbar. OGF has some pretty specific reports in their Erie Forum From the Western Basin to Astubula.

Since you will be in Sandusky Bay you can also fish out of Huron and do very well. Right now the Mayfly hatch is pretty bad so bite can be tough. Read OGF reports for the latest info.  Good luck and let us know how you do.

Hey thanks, I hear of guys trolling mayfly spinner rigs any idea what these are? What about any of the islands out of the bay in the main lake, Kelly's, bass islands?

Like I said click the link I posted and you will find all you want about Lake Erie from the western basin to Astubula and yes reports on the Island area. You will see baits used speeds trolled and length of line behind the boards. Good luck on your search and your trip.

Mike, if you can head a bit further east, and want to get on some fish, gimme a call. Or, if you just want some tips on harnesses or anything else.

Hey Jim, I realy appreciate that. Tried to call you but got a "Steve's" voicemail. I'm actually in Syracuse N.Y. now and will be heading to Ohio on friday. I picked Sandusky cause I can fish Erie for the first time and make the wife and daughter feel like I'm doing it for them by leaving them at Six Flags and Castaway Bay!LOL!  My wifes actually very good, she's come to accept that every family trip or vacation has to revolve around the best places to fish!lol. Anyway double check the number you typed. Maybe I'll hit ya on the way or way back to N.Y. Where are you at? Or you can call my cell, 518-744-8344. Would definately like to talk with you. Thanks again!

mike, just came back from lorain. casting weapons just east of kelly's is hot right now. trolling harnesses or spoons is working from the east side of kelly's to the west side of the lorain sand bar. 31 to the 33 line. the steelhead bite has slowed way down. biggest sunday was right at 12lbs. biggest walleye in with the steelhead was 6 lbs. the week before 10lbers were mixed in with the steelhead. you'll need alot of crawlers as the sheephead are everywhere. flats of crawlers are going from $32 to $35 average.

Hooked up with Mike this morning and got him his first Lake Erie walleye. The action wasn't blistering, but we got into some fish. Weather was perfect.
