Insight maps vs. base map vs. nothing?

I am looking to purchase 2 HDS10 units and wondered which HDS unit to choose?  I have all of the Lakemaster chips.  what advantage does the insight, base map or standard image have over one another?

If you fish where you have LakeMaster maps there is no advantage, I would get the base maps models.

I agree with Burce. The only time the insight come into play is when you are zoomed way out. There is depth contours of course but imo the lakemaster mapping is alot better then insight mapping. I only buy the base modles.

Is there a difference between the Insite chips you can buy over the counter vs. the Insite in the hard drive of the unit?

I haven't checked for a year but when the Lowrance Insight chip came out it allowed you to zoom in further with better details.

Mornin' Doc.  The new Insight HD lets you zoom in about 7 times further.  Really kewl for us trollers.
